Visitor Information

The original church on the St Mary Woolnoth site was damaged in the Great Fire in 1666 and repaired by Sir Christopher Wren. It was then rebuilt by Nicholas Hawksmoor between 1716-1727. The church's interior was remodelled between 1875-6 by William Butterfield and is dominated by an ornate altar-piece, set within a square which is defined by twelve imposing Corinthian pillars.
