Founded in 1895 and refurbished in 2011, Bishopsgate Institute is crammed between the skyscrapers of the City and the markets, warehouses and tenements of the East End. It offers a diverse range of activities in its Grade II listed building, including courses for adults; a library; a programme of cultural events – from music concerts and illustrated talks to debates and poetry – and rooms for hire for between 2 to 600 people.
