Admission of readers is by appointment only and at the discretion of Library staff.

Housed on the first floor on the north side of Goldsmiths' Hall, The Library was installed in a former committee room in the early 1950s.

It is a special library appropriate for the use of those in tertiary and adult education and contains some 7,500 printed books, as well as periodicals and journals, photographs and slides, films and VHS tapes. Additionally it holds the Twining collection of printed material on the regalia of European royal courts.

The Company's archives, dating from the 14th century, are also the responsibility of The Library.
