Visitor Information

A small theatre tucked behind Fleet Street, the Bridewell is something of a hidden gem. It hosts a variety of productions – from classics to contemporary – and as well as its evening programme, it shows 45-minute lunchtime plays, during which the audience are encouraged to eat.

It opened in 1994 at the St Bride Foundation, having converted its Victorian swimming pool and has a committment to nurturing new talent by showcasing graduate, professional and non-professional performances alike.
