The Design Museum is one of the world's leading museums of modern and contemporary design with a mission to excite everyone about design. Since its foundation in 1989, the museum has won international acclaim for exhibitions on modern design history and contemporary design. The Museum celebrates richness and diversity in design and its power to enhance daily life by exploring innovation and excellence in every areas from industrial design, graphics and multimedia, to fashion and architecture.

Many people use the Design Museum as a research resource and the website attracts over 1.5m unique visitors per year. The Design at the Design Museum online research archive holds information and images on the designers, architects, design movements and technologies that have shaped design history.

The Museum is the UK's largest museum provider of design education resources. It helps to improve the quality of Design & Technology teaching in schools and runs lifelong learning and creativity programmes for adults and children, as well as community projects.
