If you're crossing London Bridge from the City to the South Bank, why not pay a visit the Southwark Cathedral and its gardens? There were burials here until 1854 and the current layout sees a herb garden constructed around the ruins of the medieval Lady Chapel and plants with biblical significance in the design for the south churchyard garden. A pink granite memorial stone designed by British sculptor Peter Randall-Paige is dedicated to an 18th century Mogehan tribe chief, who died in 1736 whilst visiting London from America to present a petition King George II to stop the encroachment of English settlers on Mohegan tribal lands.
