Visitor Information

Open: scheduled days only (see website for details) or groups by special arrangement (see website or phone well in advance to book).

Built in 1719, thi Grade II listed building was home to the Ogier family, Huguenots who had escaped persecution in France. Following their departure the house became home to many different professions and immigrant families, including Jews who, in 1869, erected a tiny synagogue in the garden.

Now an international historic site of conscience, with a critically acclaimed site-specific exhibition exploring the history of the waves of immigration that shaped Spitalfields and the nation, as seen through the eyes of today's children (the exhibition was created in collaboration with 9 and 10-year-olds).

Access is restricted as the house is fragile and in much need of repair. See the website for scheduled, admission-free open days.
