John Wesley (1703-1791) was the founder of Methodism and built this Chapel as his London base in 1778. Internationally-regarded as the Cathedral of World Methodism, the chapel is situated opposite Bunhill Fields which is well worth a look. Combine your trip with a visit to Wesley's House and to the Museum of Methodism next door and get an insight into Wesley the man and the doctrine he taught.
