Visitor Information

Open Mon-Fri; during term-time visits are reserved for school groups and public sessions run in the holidays. Booking is by appointment via the website.

During school holidays this innovative new science centre offers free hour-long 'experiences' to anyone over the age of nine. Visitors gather around a central ‘nucleus’ for an audiovisual display, projected around the walls of the pod, which introduces cells – "the building blocks of life". The nucleus opens to reveal touch-table games: you can try your hand at virtual experiments, heal extensive burns and have your cells counted. You also get to see real body parts and diagnose cancer using high-power microscopes.

Centre of the Cell is located within the research laboratories of Barts & The London School of Medicine and Dentistry at Queen Mary, University of London.
