Museum 52 began in 2003 as a one-year curatorial project. It has since developed into a gallery committed to providing high-level support for its growing stable of artists. The program is interspersed with one off exhibitions and group shows, which include experienced and varied international artists. An additional feature of the gallery is the outside signage, which is created by a guest artist for every exhibition. Past sign artists include Sophie Von Hellermann, Hans Schabus, Gavin Turk, Tim Noble and Sue Webster and Fiona Banner.
