Visitor Information

For many years, individuals with a particular interest in the Square Mile have been able to qualify as City Guides at an examination (both written and practical) sponsored by the City of London. A group of these guides founded the City of London Guide Lecturers Association in 1983 in order to promote the City's history, customs, ceremonies, activities and topography.

The Association has grown considerably since it was founded and now publishes a register of members who offer their services as guides and/or lecturers. This allows individuals and organisations to obtain information about guides and speakers who have a special knowledge of the City of London, with a wide range of special subjects, services and languages suitable for the business community, tourists and for any others with an interest in the City. In addition to their listed abilities, many guides work or have worked within the City.

The downloadable file with individual entries for guides (accessed via website above) provides sufficient information as to the suitability of a guide for any particular need. Further details and bookings should be made by approaching the guide directly using the contact details under each entry. Fees should be discussed and agreed before any firm contract is entered into.
