Let a City of London Guide explain the history of St Barts, a hospital which by the early 1700s had already occupied the same site for almost six centuries. Visitors will get the opportunity to see William Hogarth's famous biblical paintings dating from 1734; incredible canvasses that decorate the walls around a beautiful oak staircase. Tours take in the hospital’s square, the North Wing and the Great Hall, all designed by James Gibbs in the 18th century, and the church of St Bartholomew the Less. Visitors will also visit the church of St Bartholomew the Great (an extra entry fee will be charged by the church) and Cloth Fair in Smithfield.
This tour is run on behalf of St Bartholomew's Hospital Archives and Museum.
