Overlooking the Thames from the north end of Southwark Bridge, this 1980s office block was dragged into the 21st century by John Robertson Architects with the help of HOK International and Seth Stein Architects. Legal firm S J Berwin now occupy the building (incidentally, the 2010 Lord Mayor Nick Anstee is a Senior Director of the company) and 1,500 staff work here. Architectural features to look out for in the four-storey building include the double-height entrance lobby and the series of atria bringing light deep into the structure. The 2,000m² roof terrace is pretty special too, offering lawyers on their lunch breaks spectacular views over the river.
