Visitor Information

The Mayor of London's annual Thames Festival is a mix of street arts, performance, carnival, pyrotechnics, illuminations, art installations, exhibitions, circus, music and dance. It is London’s largest outdoor arts festival and celebrates the city and the River Thames.

This year the popular Feast on the Bridge returns to Southwark Bridge with live music, dancing, workshops and baking, and games and story-telling for children. The main theme for 2011 is fish, so look out for the Forgotten Fish Restaurant and fishy-themed screenings at the Cycle Cinema.

The main music stage will be showcasing the some of London’s underground music scene, with new bands and DJs, programmed by The Shrine’s Elliott Jack, Max Reinhardt & Rita Ray.

This year sees a reversal of the Night Carnival route, which will now have its finale on the north bank of the river, providing more space for artists to make their illuminated floats and sections even more spectacular.

See the Thames Festival website for full listings and venue information.
