Want something really individual? Head to Origin: the London Craft Fair which brings together 220 of the "most innovative UK and international makers" so you can browse and buy face to face. For the first time Origin is being held in the refurbished Old Spitalfields Market (it was formerly held at Somerset House but has moved to more spacious surroundings) and is part of the London Design Festival.

Launched in 2006 to replace the Chelsea Crafts Fair, it attracts over 19,000 visitors. Designer/makers are chosen by jury and exhibitors are a mix of national and international makers, established names and emerging talent. Work shown includes ceramics, glass, textiles, jewellery and furniture.
