The London Schools Symphony Orchestra (LSSO) celebrates its 60th birthday with a concert at the Barbican featuring favourite works by Elgar, Delius, Britten, Walton and Vaughan. Conductors are Sir Richard Armstrong, Steuart Bedford, Nicholas Kraemer and Harry Ogg – and there'll be a celebrity narrator too (currently tbc). Soloists will include Joan Rodgers and Alwyn Mellor.
The London Schools Symphony Orchestra has been sponsored for over 14 years by the City of London. The orchestra is managed by the Centre for Young Musicians (CYM), a division of the Guildhall School.
