COMMA is Bloomberg's new series of commissions which ask artists to experiment and expand their practice in relation to Bloomberg SPACE and its communities. Forty "outstanding emerging and established international artists" will be invited to create new work, installations and architectural interventions and this exhibition shows numbers 26 and 27.

COMMA 26 Ernst Caramelle
Caramelle applies thin washes of watercolour and pigment painted directly on to the gallery walls to create site specific installations. Colorful and geometric, the paintings at first appear to be simple abstract designs, but apparently soon reveal themselves to be "illusionistic representations of an extended architectural space."

COMMA 27 Elina Brotherus
Acclaimed photographer and filmmaker Elina Brotherus presents a newly commissioned film ‘Black Bay Sequence’, showing the artist losing herself to the landscape, alongside a second new commission ‘Time Series IV’, a series of 100 self portraits, taken each day, documenting the physical effects on the artist of strong medication.

Exhibition talk – Thursday 2 September, 12.30pm-1.30pm.
All are welcome to this free exhibition talk where a light lunch will be served.
