For non-urgent crimes in the City

The City of London has its own police force dedicated to looking after this small and distinct area of London, the City of London Police are separate from the Metropolitan Police which look after all other parts of London. The City’s force can be identified by the distinctive red and white cheque that often appears on their uniforms or vehicles. For further information, visit the City of London Police website.

There are two 24-hour police stations in the City, one at Snow Hill and one on Bishopsgate (City of London Police website). If you are the victim of a non-urgent crime or require police assistance, visit these stations (there is also one on Wood street which is open from 7.30am to 7.00pm or telephone 020 7601 2222.

For non-urgent crimes in the rest of London

In non-emergency situations in London but outside of the City, you should contact the Metropolitan Police either by phone or by going to the nearest police station with a front office open to the public.
