Paternoster Square is a relatively new City development that is home to the London Stock Exchange and a series of shops, bars and restaurants. The welcoming pedestrianised piazza is worth a visit even if you’re not intent on shopping – the striking contemporary architecture means it’s a great place to sit out and take lunch.
Established over 400 years ago, Petticoat Lane Market is one of London’s oldest and most famous street markets. Selling, amongst other things, clothing, leather goods, watches and toys, it is open on weekdays and Sundays, when it expands to cover 10 surrounding streets.
